This text was prepared by Nate Ripperton, using as copytext, A Child's Own Book of Verse, Book Two, by Ada M. Skinner and Frances Gillespy Wickes, New York: The Macmillan Company, Publishers, 1917.

Included in the text are a number of illustrations by Maud S. Fuller and Michael Petersham, who later married and illustrated many children's books under the names Maud and Miska Petersham.
