About This Text

This text was prepared by Lisa Ripperton, using as copytext, Our Island Saints, by Amy Steedman, London: T. C. & E. C. Jack, Ltd. There is no date of publication in the book, but the author closes her "About This Book" section with her name, followed by Edinburgh, 1912.

Since this book was first published before 1923, it is in the public domain in the United States. By U.S. law, it entered the public domain 75 years after its first publication.

Editorial changes are not noted in comments. But a couple of editorial changes were made throughout the text so that it conforms with other texts on this site. Double quotes were used instead of single quotes to denote dialog. The word Saint replaces the abbreviation S. everywhere.
